  Project

Presented by the Province of Livorno, was approved by ISFOL, the National Agency of the Lifelong Learning Program - Leonardo da Vinci, as a project for the transfer of innovation.

"Valori" in fact aims to transfer a training model to build more inclusive work environments, through training of staff and testing in companies behavioural models in accordance with the standards of "social" certification SA 8000.

The project starts by the training path "Job Facilitation Tutor", experienced with "Coast Revitalization, aimed at operators that accompany to work disadvantaged people, and takes advantage of a system of networking among local institutions established by the "Protocol of Agreement between the Province of Livorno, Grosseto, Lucca, Massa Carrara and Pisa signed also by Provincia di Livorno Sviluppo (May 2007).

"Valori" incorporates the original training model, adapts and updates it at European level thanks to the synergy of the transnational partners (Gsub - Germany, Motiváció Alapítvány - Hungary, GMYN - United Kingdom) and transfers it to a new target group, managers and Human Resource responsible of companies in the Tuscan coast and in Hungary.

Goals

The project helps to improve the continuous training and lifelong learning by developing practices to facilitate access to training and work of disadvantaged people, and aids to strengthen the territorial system implementing and supporting the positive experimentations.

Specifically:
  • Encouraging the job preservation and professional enhancement of disabled,
  • Improving the capacity of enterprises to manage diversity as a resource for innovation and competitiveness,
  • Creating more inclusive work environments,
  • Providing socio-economic local systems with methodologies and practices for active inclusion aimed to integrate the positive models into the local system.
These objectives are pursued at regional level by transferring the results of Equal "Coast Revitalization" and facing the criticalities emerged with the project (the inability of the public service to pursue a steady and sustained mentoring of individuals included in the company and the resistance of staff to accept colleagues with reduced working capacity respect to the standard required), and at a transnational level through the exchange and comparison on social and working inclusion of disadvantaged people in benchmarking tables to identify the best practices in the labour market for disadvantaged groups.

Methodology

The project transfers an integrated and innovative training model for training of managers and executives of Human Resources, - the path "Job Facilitation Tutor" updated and adapted at European level - in 10 companies in the Tuscan coast and 2 in Hungary.

Training is provided in the company in traditional ways and by Distance Learning, and through individual traineeship of accompaniment to job for the disadvantaged people included in the target companies.

This process occurs through the involvement of partners, who have already shared experiences on inclusion and employment, and local authorities, social partners, training agencies and public/private structures that support the inclusion of disadvantaged people, in the various stages of project: the raising of awareness in the companies, the tables for discussion and exchange between institutions, stakeholders and representatives of social partners, the signing of a Protocol on social inclusion, training and work, that help local socio-economic systems to acquire methods and practices of active inclusion, bringing to system the positive models and results.

The method of sharing and exchange is also used in creating a business climate able to accept diversity, also in the transfer stage, through the practice of peer-review that allows to adapt in real time the training model by direct comparison.
